(2 Ratings)
Period style eight-room inn
Located one block from downtown P-town and near the beach, the Elephant Walk Inn is beautifully decorated and -- happily -- affordable.

Great deal, great service, and close to everything

Consider this a reality check from some of these other reviews. Elephant Walk is one block from where everything is happening off Commercial St. and has the best rates around $159 per night high season. Please think about that before you compare this house with $300-$500 guest rooms. This is an old guest house, rough around the edges, but very comfortable and quaint with some interesting art at every turn. The owner Michael offered an explanation when I expressed my concerns about some negative reviews, and we took a chance last week and Im glad we did! Jared bent over backward to guarantee we were comfortable - even offered us his beach umbrella so we wouldn't have to buy one. He also gave us the skinny on day trips, restaurants, bars, and beaches. Elephant Walk has a nice deck off the 2nd floor where we grabbed some wine and cheese from the shop next door and enjoyed the breeze and conversation. Bottom line, I believe Michael and Jared are trying to make the best of an old guest house and are trying to keep it affordable. Of course it would be nicer if it had a face lift, but it would not be the bargain it is now. I have traveled the world and rarely review, but feel this Inn has been unfairly maligned. I believe you now have enough info to make a decision on whether the Elephant Inn will work for your stay. We had a great stay!

Slow like elephants....

I spent two nights at The Elephant Walk. I never saw the innkeepers after signing in. The room was not made and the advertised continental breakfast shone in absence. The room was comfortable and clean. OK, not great!
