(4 Ratings)
Bear-friendly garden escape
Look for the bear flag pointing you towards the beautiful garden path that leads to this friendly B&B. A favorite during Bear Week, The Captain's House is affordable and downtown-accessible!

Terrible service, mean and cruel

Name called me and verbally attacked me with no context. It seemed like the staff member I was talking to went out of his way to make me feel bad for no reason. I don't have time for personal attacks, so I will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Sweet & Sour

Located on the East end, a good walk to the bars and action, Rent a bike if you stay here. NO parking onsite, you must walk about 4 blocks to municipal lot or use the limited space private lot they keep 2 reserved spaces at for $15-$20- per day. No hot tub anymore, that's history..., must have been removed at the writing of this review. The patio is pretty, but locked at 11:00, not sure why? Rooms are very small in general, Beds are creaky & squeaky; the whole house will know you're having sex! Little to no room to store clothing or luggage in the rooms-very tight, no desk & chair, a small TV awkwardly placed and hard to watch from bed. Pillows and linens were adequate but I did not get a restful nights sleep as the mattress was too firm. Breakfast was nice and consisted of Granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, Orange juice, and fruit & nut bread. second floor bedrooms share bathrooms. AC units were hard to program, noisy and visibly mildewy. Fridge in the room was nice to have but the condenser made too much noise and I would have unplugged it if I didn't have drinks in it. If you are a heavy sleeper who is not particular you will be fine. If you like more space and comfort, it's not for you. Hosts were overall helpful and friendly, one of them rarely smiled and always looked preoccupied. Soap & Shampoo are in liquid form and in containers on shower stall walls, if you prefer a bar of soap, bring your own. I would only stay there again if I were in a pinch and would much prefer a small cottage or studio for my next visit.

Highly Recommended

I highly recommend the Captain's House in Provincetown. It's clean, comfortable, and the staff is very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. There is a continental breakfast from 8-11 in the morning and a little outdoor patio with a hot tub. Best of all, unlike so many of the hotels and inn's in Provincetown, this place was reasonably priced and didn't require us to stay any more then the one night we were going to be in town. We will definitely go back!!
