excellent atmosphere, budget bathroom, fine bedroom

The hotel was a little below my expectation for the price and hype on the website. We had a wonderful time obviously but this was more down to the weather and Provincetown itself... Will go elsewhere next time but it really wasn't bad at all... The staff were friendly.

Worked fine for us last month

We arrived in P-Town w/o reservations, changing our plans last minute and not staying at a family house farther down the Cape. We were surprised almost all those lovely Victorian places had No Vacancy signs out during the last week in September, cause we might have tried one for the atmosphere. We found the Boatslip with the GayCities iPhone app, and it's like a formula US motel, nothing special. But, they do have free off-street on-premises parking, some spaces lower-level covered, while other fancier hotels make you use public pay lots down the street. Plus we had a lovely bayside view off our balcony, a private swimming pool, beach access, WiFi, and a Continental breakfast, all at an off-season rate cheaper than anyplace else we found. We were only in our room to sleep anyway, so it served us perfectly. Unfortunately our midweek stay wasn't during one of their tea dances, so we can't rate that. They also have a pleasant-enough bar with an outdoor patio along Commercial St, where we enjoyed meeting other guests from around the country.

Best tea dance and a great place to catch some sun

I prefer sunning myself here by day and in the afternoon returning for Tea. Price for admission depends on the day (week / weekday) and how busy that week is when you go. It is stil the best Tea Dance I've been.

good to party, but to NOT stay

Great location and their T-dances are a must, but stay somewhere else. Walls in the rooms are paper thin and you can hear everything going on. Housekeeping staff forgot to clean our rooms, VERY NOISY! Staff not friendly. Stay someplace else and attend their T Dances.
