What we say
Casual, small and friendly with Victorian charm.
The Porchside Bar is really just a bar in the lobby of the Gifford House Inn. But, with its quaint victorian porch and lots of tables around to sit and share a drink with friends, this is a great stop for a pre-dinner drink. The bar and porch get a little more crowded later on weekend evenings when the boys stop here before heading to a dance spot.

I like this place if you start here before going to the other places. It's pretty much low-key, nice but not exciting. You can meet guys but they are usually 40 yo or so, although younger ones go there they are always with friends for a drink or two & split for more fun elsewhere. There is a lesbo area too, so the women like that, but men as we know wanna be with MEN.

I've been going to Ptown for the past 22 years, and this is one of my favorite places to visit. It is quintessential New England, with a great porch to hang outside on and enjoy the sea breeze during the hot summer months, and indoors during the winter with the cozy fireplace roaring. The juke box is loaded with great songs--fun for singing along to after a few terrific cocktails. While the drinks are "killah," the manager is a bit "much"--he's way too impressed with himself. But you shouldn't be. Just go, buy a great cocktail, and enjoy the ambiance!!!

I don't think so. I found the staff to be rather rude. Not a place I'd care to hang out.
So, what do you say?
